Connection

Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) is the only elementary and secondary education organization authorized to offer programs that lead to a bilingual Francophone high school diploma in Saskatchewan.

This diploma certifies that the student can express him/herself in French at a first language level as well as in English as a first language. In addition to strong language skills, students can acquire skills recognized by universities for admission to university programs with specific requirements in mathematics and science, for example.

CÉF has a triple mandate with its community and more specifically with its children and teenagers: academic success for each of them, the development of their Francophone identity, their language skills and their Francophone culture.

The virtual course offer is aimed at grades 7 to 12 and includes a preparatory year for university studies (after grade 12).

The curriculum

The programs of study offered in CÉF schools are approved by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education.

The seven mandatory areas of study within the curriculum are:

  • languages (French, English)
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Physical Education
  • Wellness
  • Arts education
  • Humanities and social sciences

Each core curriculum area includes specific knowledge, skills and values that are essential for every student, whether they are in elementary, middle or high school. For this reason, the mandatory areas of study are present in the entire school curriculum from elementary through high school.
